Herman Autrup

Herman Autrup received a MSc in organic chemistry from University of Copenhagen, Denmark and a PhD in experimental pathology from the university of Nairobi, Kenya. He has been Head of the Carcinogen macromolecular Interaction Section, Laboratory of Human Carcinogenesis, National Cancer Institute (USA), and Chief, Laboratory of Environmental Carcinogenesis, Danish Cancer Society. He retired as professor of Environmental Medicine, University of Aarhus, Denmark in 2015.

Herman Autrup was Elected member of the Danish Academy of technical Sciences in 1997, and has received numerous awards EUROTOX Merit award, SOT (USA)Education Award, Princess Chulabhorn gold medal (Thailand), Fritz Sobel award (European Environmental Mutagen society) .He has been member of several risk assessment committee in EU and has been member of the Scientific advisory committee and Governing board of IARC. He is currently President of the International Union of Toxicology.

He has published more than 225 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals (H-Index 55).
